GMHTP (GM High Tech Performance Mag) has an article this month about what a giant cam does in an otherwise stock LS1. They took a stock LS1 with 241 heads and proceeded to put the most ridiculous cams they could find in there. A set of Comp 26926 valve springs, calling Texas Speed to get their discount, a FAST intake, and running the exhaust open put out 525 on an engine dyno. Think about 15% loss and skipping the FAST intake as it only made about 10hp over the LS6 intake, and thats ~430rwhp for a cam ($400), valvesprings ($265), and a cutout from Nate ($200). hmmm.... Pic of engine dyno, full exhaust, big cam.

The gay part is that is more hp than I can reasonably run in the Mustang with the blower. Good thing I'm going to Mexico for a week and am not sitting around thinking this would be a good idea.

lmao - it'd be fun as long as I could tune it to for a reasonable idle rpm and still be able to turn on the a/c without stalling it.

Oh, I forgot retainers/locks. Retainers are $145 and I don't know about the locks.

I'm leaning towards what puppy was saying. Go with a milder more streetable cam, and a decent wet shot. You already have the setup for it.
